Terms of Service

These terms are a deal between you and Piper James LLC, the Texas company that makes CAFF. By creating an account you agree to them. We've kept them short and in plain English; please read them.

Who we are

CAFF is a product of Piper James LLC. CAFF is independent: we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc.

Who can use CAFF

• You must be 18 or older.
• CAFF is currently available to residents of the United States, except Illinois and Washington. You confirm your state of residence at signup, and you agree your answer is truthful.

Your photos

You may only upload photos of yourself. Never upload photos of anyone else, including with their permission. Uploading someone else's face is a violation of these terms and grounds for immediate account termination. Your photos and face data are handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which requires your explicit consent before any processing.

The free trial

• The trial runs 7 days from signup, no card required, and includes up to 4 brands, a 1,000 ad-scan meter, and 5 free HD downloads.
• You can extend the trial once, by 7 days, from inside the app.
• When the trial ends, your account becomes read-only. If you don't continue, your photos and all face-derived data are permanently deleted 30 days after signup, automatically.

Plans, meters, and Scan Packs

• Paid plans include a monthly ad-scan meter: you can scan up to the plan's number of ads each month, which is typically a certain number of brands. Every scan, including a re-scan of a brand you've scanned before, counts the ads it processes against your meter.
• The meter resets each month and unused meter does not roll over.
• If you hit your meter, you can buy a Scan Pack ($4.99 per 1,000 ad-scans). Scan Packs roll over for 6 months.
• Prices may change with advance notice, except founding rates, which are protected below.

The founding creator offer

Founding creators (our first, invited cohort) get 50% off the Standard or Pro plan for as long as their subscription remains continuously active. "For life" means the life of your continuously active subscription: if you cancel or your subscription lapses, the founding rate ends and standard pricing applies if you return. The Starter plan is not discounted.

HD downloads

Downloads save a copy of an ad that matched your face, for your personal records and portfolio documentation. Downloads work only on matches you have confirmed as you. By downloading, you confirm that you appear in (or created) the ad and that your use of the download is consistent with your agreements with the advertiser. Advertisers own their ad creative: republishing a downloaded ad may require their permission. Downloads are best-effort; Meta controls the underlying files and an ad that stops running may become unavailable. IP complaints: caff-legal@rube.com. We may disable downloads for content subject to a valid complaint, and repeat infringers lose access.

What CAFF does (and doesn't do)

• CAFF suggests matches using automated face-matching, and you confirm or reject each one. Suggestions can be wrong; your confirmation is part of the product.
• CAFF searches ads in Meta's public Ad Library (currently Facebook and Instagram ads, active ads only). We can't promise to surface all of the ads you appear in.
• Information about how long an ad has been running is informational only. It is not legal advice, and it does not establish that anyone owes you money. Check your own contract before invoicing or contacting a brand.

Acceptable use

Don't upload anyone else's photos. Don't use CAFF for anything unlawful, including harassment or stalking. Don't scrape, probe, resell, or reverse-engineer the service. Don't try to circumvent meters, trials, or availability rules.

Content and ownership

Your photos remain yours; you give us only the limited permission needed to provide the service to you (described in the Privacy Policy). Advertisers own their ad creative. CAFF and its software remain ours.

IP complaints (DMCA)

Email caff-legal@rube.com with the content at issue and the basis of your complaint. Piper James LLC has a DMCA designated agent registered with the U.S. Copyright Office (registration DMCA-1074962). We respond promptly, may disable access to material subject to a valid complaint, and terminate repeat infringers.

Ending things

You can close your account anytime; deletion follows the Privacy Policy (complete within 30 days). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Uploading someone else's face is an immediate-termination offense.

Honesty about warranties

CAFF is provided as is. We work hard to make it accurate and available, but we can't warrant completeness, accuracy, or uninterrupted service, in part because the service depends on public data sources (like Meta's Ad Library) that can change without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows it, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Texas law. If something goes wrong, email us first at caff-legal@rube.com and we will try in good faith to fix it.

Changes

We may update these terms as CAFF grows; we'll post changes here with a new date, and material changes get an email heads-up.
